The Quality Assurance/Quality Control Assistant Manager is an independent position/function responsible in ensuring the quality aspect of the project deliverables (e.g. workmanship, timeline, safety). He shall be directly reporting to the Project Management Manager and functionally reporting to the QA/QC Manager.
1. Reports directly to QAQC Manager regarding all matters pertaining to quality of Project/s.
2. Supervises External Construction Management Quality Assurance & Quality Control Team.
3. Evaluates the Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), and Method Statement (MS)
submitted by the External Construction Management (CM) if in parallel with SMDC’s PQP and ITP.
4. Attends Project Management Meetings and Project Technical Meetings.
5. Reviews and studies approved drawings and specifications (FCD, RFIs, RFAs, SI, CB, etc.).
6. Inspects mock-up unit/s, together with External Consultants’ Representative/s and SMDC-QAD
Representative/s.
7. Validates residential units and common areas in parallel with the External CM prior to endorsement for
acceptance of the SMDC QAD and GPMC respectively.
8. Validates rectified residential units and common areas in parallel with the External CM prior to re-
endorsement for acceptance of the SMDC QAD and GPMC respectively.
9. May conduct plant visit/s and recommend supplier’s/contractor’s capabilities in complying with the
standards/requirements of the Project/s during Construction Phase.
10. Validates corrective and preventive actions on Observations and Non-Compliance Reports (NCR) based on
methodologies approved by the External Consultants.
11. Checks handling/archiving of documents/records by the Construction Management.
12. Reviews Weekly QAQC Report prepared by the External Construction Management prior to be submission to
the SMDC QAQC Section.
13. Evaluates the performance of External Construction Management on implementation of the Quality Control
Plan for the project.
14. Evaluates the performance of Suppliers on the supply of materials if in accordance to the project’s quality
standards.
15. Evaluates the performance of Contractors on the provision of services if in accordance to the project’s quality
standards.
16. On Material, Conducts inspection on handling of materials especially those supplied by the Owner, based on
to the standard or approved procedure.
17. On Material, Reviews Materials Inspection Reports on delivered materials (OSM and materials supplied by
Contractors) approved/accepted by the CM.
18. On Material, Prepares and issues corresponding reports based on his verification/inspection on site.
19. On Material, Monitors timely closeout of issued observations reports.
20. On Work Activity, Conducts inspection of work activities on-site for compliance with approved plans,
specifications and approved submittals.
21. On Work Activity, Checks/verifies Work Inspection Reports approved by the CM.
22. On Work Activity, Prepares and issues corresponding reports based on his verification/inspection on site.
23. On Work Activity, Monitors timely closeout of issued observations reports.
Board exam passer with a valid PRC license

Graduate of civil engineering or architectural courses or equivalent from a reputable college or university.
Preferably, with at least three (3) years of work experience as QA/QC Assistant Manager related to construction engineering from a reputable property developer, real estate, contractor or consulting firm.
